Every day you are faced with tasks of informing about the activities of the local council, preparing texts and speeches, creating photo and video content, working with comments and social networks, organizing public events? Do you strive to establish high-quality communication and interaction with residents through official resources? Would you like to be as prepared as possible for communication challenges?
Join the training program “Steps for Specialists. Communications for LSG Authorities” (the Training Programme) from U-LEAD with Europe!
What is it?
A training program is aimed at developing the practical competencies of community communicators.
Over the course of five weeks, you will learn
- how to build systemic communication of local government to strengthen trust and interaction with residents,
- how to find a balance between target groups, communication channels and messages for interaction and feedback;
- how to overcome communication challenges and develop an action plan so that these challenges do not destroy the reputation and do not sow panic;
- how to establish a dialogue in the community, in which all residents will participate;
- how transparent and timely communication of local government affects the image of the community and forms positive relationships with residents and other stakeholders.
You will also deepen your skills and abilities in creating content (text and visual), receive practical tools and templates to facilitate your work, learn about current trends, creative approaches and non-standard solutions in communications.
When?
The program will last from 16 October to 11 November 2025 and will consist of online trainings and seminars. Subject to successful completion of the test task and current tasks, participants will receive a certificate.
Who can become participants in the program?
We invite:
- specialists responsible for communications and information activities of local government units (VA NP);
- local government officials whose job responsibilities include covering the activities of local government units, forming a communication strategy of local government units, ensuring relations with the media, organizing communication events, etc.,
from communities with a population of up to 50 thousand people who are not in the temporarily occupied territory, and who did not participate in the previous training programs "Steps for specialists. Communications for LSG Authorities" (2024) and the network "Creating a communication plan for changes in the community" (2023).
How to participate?
To participate in the selection, you must fill out the attached application and send it to the email address: regops.u-lead@giz.de by 18:00 on 23 September 2025, indicating in the subject line: "Communications for LSG_Name of community_oblast". The application is in MS Excel format.
How many participants will be selected?
100 people (one representative from each community).
