Mastering the relevant and flexible approaches, methods, and tools in the budget preparation process contributes to strengthening local budgets, ensuring the socio-economic development of territories and well-being of municipality residents.
Join the Training Programme “Steps for Specialists. Formation and Approval of the Local Budget 2026”! (the Training Programme)
What is it?
It is an in-depth study of the specifics of forming draft budgets for 2026 and developing skills in applying current approaches to financial management.
Benefits for the participants:
As part of the Training Programme the Participants will
- learn about the detailed algorithm for preparing and approving the local budget;
- develop skills in implementing modern forms and methods of local budget planning in their professional activities;
- master the skills of organizing the budget formation process in municipalities and coordinating participants in the budget process;
- receive consulting support and methodological recommendations
When?
Seven weeks, starting on 02 October 2025. All events will be held online and are free of charge for participants.
Who can participate?
100 participants were selected, one representative from municipality with a population of up to 50 thousand people, who are not located in temporarily occupied territory.
Officials from the financial bodies of rural, settlement, and town councils who have the technical capabilities (microphone, camera) to join online events are invited to participate.
Based on the results of successful training, participants will receive certificates.

To participate in the selection, it is necessary to fill out the application attached and send it to the e-mail address: regops.u-lead@giz.de until 18:00 on 09 September 2025, in the subject line of the message, indicating “BUDGET_Municipality Name_Oblast” in MS Excel format.
